Benefits & Expectation of Philly Doula Co-op Members
Members of the Philly Doula Co-op are given the opportunity to grow professionally alongside a diverse group of doulas. Our doulas represent a vast array of birth experiences and professional qualifications. The membership represents a network of doulas who support and encourage each other, and have earned the the respect of the birth community in Philadelphia. Members will receive referrals generated through our webpage, and each has a picture and bio featured on our web page. Our tiered fee structure assures that doulas will be matched with clients who are willing to pay you according to the doula's level of experience. Furthermore, our doulas have access to the many resources, tools and templates that we use and share with each other.
We have a handful of simple but important expectations. All of our doulas are trained by a certifying organization such as DONA, CAPPA or Birth Arts, Birthing From Within or ProDoula, and are either certified or actively pursuing certification. We all agree to work according to the professional standards of practice as defined by DONA International. We ask that each member is willing to use their unique skill set to work collaboratively with the other members to carry out the tasks required to keep the co-op running smoothly. These may include administrative tasks, marketing projects, professional development events or hosting meetings. We work together on these tasks, support each other and grow together professionally by meeting every month for about 1 1/2 hours. We pay annual dues of $50 as well as contributing a small percentage from each birth back into our treasury. We ask each member to have a Google account in order to participate in a shared calendar and shared documents. While we are only able to accept a limited number of new members each year, we welcome you to fill out the application below in order to be considered.
